The Wine Workshop by Il Vicoletto

By Thedublindiary @TheDublinDiary
When your absolute favorite Italian restaurant in Dublin opens it's own wine shop you have to take notice! I've mentioned Il Vicoletto here before, it's our "go to" place when we want to celebrate somewhere special. Well the owner Christian has branched out and now we have The Wine Workshop on Upper Leeson Street.

Morgan Vanderkamer is at the helm here and the place looks amazing, elegant stained chunky chipboard shelves match the over-sized tasting table and contrast beautifully with the minimalist pine stools. It's not all looks though, there's substance too! When I stepped in for a mooch recently I got to taste some super Geoffroy Champagne which comes direct to the shop from the grower. On the shelves of reds and whites I noticed a good range of prices that will suit all pockets. For the enthusiasts there's the back room where the serious wine is kept, I'm not qualified enough to comment on that yet!

Talking about wine qualifications, Morgan runs the D6 Wine Club for aficionados of all levels so you can head along and educate yourself about all things viticulture. If you liked the sound of the grower Champagne I mentioned earlier then you're in luck, that'll be the topic of study next week!

The Wine Workshop opens this week so why not pop in and browse around, you're sure to see something you like and if you don't I bet Morgan will be able to recommend something for you!
