Guess what? My DOG has a UTI. I didn’t even know that was possible.

I feel awful, because as all of us ladies know, UTI’s are easily the most annoying thing ever. I didn’t make this juice for her to actually drink, but she was definitely the reason behind it. Also, it’s summertime, and UTI’s are way more common in the summer as they are often brought on by wearing a wet swimsuit too long. Sick.

If this has happened to you in the past, chances are your first reaction was be to chug some Ocean Spray Cranberry juice. Stop. Right. There. That shit is full of sugar, and has very little, if any, of the nutrients needed that will actually help you out.

Instead, craft up a juice that will actually help… such as this DELICIOUS concoction. Seriously, best juice I’ve ever had.

P.S. This recipe is a little confusing as it requires watermelon (a summer fruit) & cranberries (a winter fruit). I didn’t think of that when I hit the grocery store, so I improvised. There are two options: if your store has frozen organic cranberries you can defrost and use those and still get 98% of the nutrients, or you can hit up a health food store and get all natural/organic/ unsweetened cranberry juice. I opted for the latter.

+ Cranberries contain a substance that can actually prevent bacteria from sticking to the walls of the bladder.

+ Watermelon, being made up of mostly water, has the same effects of a diuretic. Meaning you pee, a lot. This helps with UTI’s cause all of that flushing of the body will help rid yourself of the unwanted bacteria that’s causing your discomfort.

+ Blueberries work the same way as cranberries, extra protection from UTI bacterias from adhering to the bladder wall.

+ Lemon works in two ways. It helps to flush the system & the high acidity content helps to kill of bacteria.

+ The longer you wait to drink your juice, the more nutrients you lose. If you can drink it immediately after you make it, or at most within 24 hours. +

CHEERS!!
