The Top 3 Books I Read in June 2016

By Everemma
I have this sudden desire to switch things up a bit, so instead of talking about every single book I read in June, I'm choosing to share which 3 I really enjoyed and think you should read too. If you're interested in see what else I read you can hop on over to Goodreads

The Top 3 Books I Read in June 2016Something Blue by Emily Giffin

This is the sequel to Giffin's Something Borrowed, which I also really enjoyed. Something Blue follows Darcy's side of the story of the aftermath of Rachel and Dex. Darcy is an insufferable, delusional character that I often wished violence upon, but is able to grow and eventually become someone that I still wouldn't necessarily want to know, but could probably tolerate in low doses. I listened to the audio and found it an enjoyable way to pass the time.

The Top 3 Books I Read in June 2016The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith

I was one of those people who ran out and bought The Casual Vacancy the week it came out and then ended up making it a DNF. When I discovered Rowling penned this novel, I had zero interest in reading it. I don't really know why I changed my mind when I saw the audio was available, but I did and I'm glad. A supermodel has fallen to her death and her brother is convinced that it wasn't a suicide. He comes to PI Cormoran Strike tp have him investigate and what follows is his investigation. The characters are complex. The mystery is full of twists and turns and I'm glad I gave it a chance!

The Top 3 Books I Read in June 2016Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes

This was my favorite read of June. I feel like Shonda and I are supposed to be best friends, especially since she had just as weird of a childhood. I didn't play with cans in the closet, but have also preferred the company of and been much more invested in the characters I have created in my mind. Although this could mean that we would just be super awkward with one another. I found this book to be inspiring and it actually is the reason I am trying to make more of an effort to write creatively in July.
