This is the second year that the festival will be held in Dundrum. The event takes place on Saturday 25th of May from 2pm to 10pm. You can read about my visit last year here if you like. Overall, from what I can figure, the festival is now in it's fifth year. My first visit was in 2010 when the festival was in Crawdaddy, I'm ashamed to admit that I wandered around a bit confused about what to try!
Just as the event was about to get busy!
I've improved a bit in the last few years and it's been events like The Secret Beer Garden that have helped me. You can buy small measures (150ml) fairly cheaply (€2) so you can sample lots without breaking the bank or getting drunk. You're also not committed to a pint of something if you don't like it! There are lots of vendors on hand to discuss their offerings and recommend what you might like. Most of the beer at the festival is served out of bottles
though a few stands did have draught,
for example Proper Job from St Austell.
Some of the entertainment and some of the food offerings from last year!
The Secret Beer Garden Festival are currently running a competition for three sets of free tickets to the festival on their Facebook page. All you have to do is complete the phrase "If I was a beer I'd be ..." and try to keep it clean! The Secret Beer Garden Festival
