Joan Jett modeled herself on her hero, Suzi Quatro. Quatro was pretty much an original punk too. She was making music around 1974 or so. 48 Crash is a great song! Everyone thought she was a dyke at the time because she had short hair and wore a leather jacket, but she’s very straight.
