The Perfect Match

Hello my lovelies!

Have you ever gone shopping and seen an item of clothing and instantly knew you just had to have it? No? Yes? Well, that happens to me almost all the time. But then again, I’m almost always browsing online for new items. My friends always tell me that I keep stressing myself because if I can’t afford most of the stuff, then why browse online in the first place? It’s like bringing high blood pressure upon myself (God forbid) lol. So I passed by New Look sometime last year just to have a look around and found this amazing floral print (embossed?) jacquard dress with some faux leather detailing. It was love at first sight. As usual, the print was the first thing that attracted me to it and when I saw it I instantly knew how I would wear it (does anyone else get these kind of ‘epiphanies’ whilst shopping?).  Unfortunately at that time I couldn’t afford the dress (okay, who am I kidding, it wasn’t on sale *side eye*). Anywho, I mentioned in a post last year that I went to Coventry. Now, in Coventry I took a couple of girlfriends shopping and came across the dress- in the sale section! Y’all already know how much of a sucker I am for a bargain. I grabbed it instantly! Win!

I have this ‘thing’ where I feel that any monochrome/black and white print goes absolutely well with any cobalt blue item of clothing, as seen with the coat (from Primark- and on sale. Winning!). Seeing as it is my favorite color ever, I knew that that is what I would pair this dress with for a day outfit with chunky ankle boots and some sheer tights. Perfect for lunch/coffee dates or a dressy day at uni. I also paired it with the foldable clutch purse to give it a print-on-print feel, while at the same time matching the faux leather details on the clutch and the dress. Paired with silver jewelry and the outfit is complete!

Didn't realize my hair looked a little ratchet at the back lol. :-)

I think I’d probably wear this dress on a night out as well, maybe ditch the tights, switch up the chunky heel for a pair of sexier ankle boots or platform court shoes or heeled sandals and a black blazer, a leather jacket  for a bit of edge. What do you think? As always, photos taken by Joan.
