First off, I love how small this speaker is. I do have a much larger Bluetooth speaker, but it’s too hefty to put into my carry-on. Meanwhile, the Altec Lansing Mini H2O Bluetooth Wireless Speaker, which I got in a vibrant red color, is lightweight and pocket-sized with the dimensions of 2.25" X 4.125" X 1.0", and it’s fitted with a hole for a carabineer, so I hang it onto my backpack.
But despite the small size, its sound output is by no means weak nor bad. I can vouch how it can play EDM tracks well from my Spotify loud and clear even on outdoor environments.
What sets it apart though from most Bluetooth speakers out there is how it’s everything-proof. By that, its manufacturer guarantees that the speaker, like some of their other products, is waterproof, sand-proof, snow-proof, dustproof, and shockproof, certified with a IP67 rating.
Before I was fully sold into the product, I brought the speaker on a couple of trips to deliberately expose it to what it’s protected against. After floating it across a swimming pool while playing music, letting the waves of the ocean submerge it, and burying it under the sand, it still was operating normally—as if nothing happened.
As I’ve said, the Altec Lansing Mini H2O Bluetooth Wireless Speaker fits my requirements as a traveler and a careless, clumsy gadget owner. It has found its constant place in my bag.
