The Overlord: Jo Malone
The Overlord: Jo MaloneWith all the hype around Jo Malone's signature scent Pomegranate Noir starting a few years ago, this purchase has been a long time coming. Around Christmas I finally decided to bite the bullet and I purchased a bottle for my mom as a gift. Little did I know that come Christmas Morning, waiting under the tree was a very luxurious looking Jo Malone parcel with my name on it. My mom and I had indeed bought each other the same surprise gift. An exciting double whammy of Jo Malone means it is safe to say we were smelling good during the festive period. We swapped sample sizes so we managed to get in on the action with both of Malone's offerings.
Blackberry and Bay Cologne - "Childhood memories of blackberry picking...A burst of deep, tart blackberry juice, blending with the freshness of just-gathered bay and brambly woods. Vibrant and verdant."
Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne - "Escape the everyday along the windswept shore. Waves breaking white, the air fresh with sea salt and spray. Alive with the mineral scent of the rugged cliffs. Mingling with the woody earthiness of sage. Lively, spirited and totally joyful."
I highly recommend going into a Jo Malone counter and spritzing some samples to take away with you as they really warm up as the day goes on. I do find that the scent pay off isn't as good as my favorite Chanel Coco Mademoiselle perfume but that certainly is a tough cookie to beat in my eyes. I would absolutely love to try the Jo Malone Dry Body Oils, Bath Oils, Scented Candles...I could go on. You get the idea!
P.S. If you purchase online the scent comes surrounded with scented paper which is amazing to put inside your underwear drawer. TMI? Sorry.
