We left ‘t Eilandje with all its hip restaurants, pubs and the MAS and continued to a place that would become one of my favorites of the weekend:

To my great delight, we walked as close as possible to the river. Not only could I admire the view on the Scheldt, but also the old yellow cranes. You can see them between the MAS and the Kattendijksluis. The cranes are not used anymore, but an organisation makes sure that they don’t disappear and are well kept. Leen and Veerle had had the occasion once to go inside one of these cranes and apparently, the cabin looks bigger than it actually is.
We simply loved it! Everybody seemed to ignore this beautiful remnant of the past. I loved the contrast between the yellow and green of the cranes and the blue sky.
