I can’t believe the other day at my office we actually got into the conversation of bathroom tissue. This subject was once discussed in length about two (2) years ago, in which I WON!
But the discussion now was between two (2) new members to the discussion; one (1) male; one (1) female. I truly didn’t mean in intrude into the conversation but this is a very touchy subject for me and my mission is TO WIN every single time!
So the male was indignant that OVER was the proper way to leave a roll of toilet paper bathroom tissue hanging on the spool. However, the female was disputing that fact and saying UNDER is the correct way.
Sitting in my office, I felt my blood begin to boil. The male in the discussion has a very prominent position within the company; however, I was not going to let that stop me.
The Confrontation
I barged into the room and said “Let me settle this dispute!”
“As a woman, and a more frequent user of “said” bathroom tissue than any male, the correct way is the woman’s way. And in this case, and in this building, it is UNDER!“
Typical man and also hating to be wrong, proceeded to try to dispute the OVER/UNDER dilemma. However, in the eyes of the Goddess (ME), there is no dilemma! Whichever way the WOMAN says is correct in that building or home, is INDEED the correct way!
His Plea
Seriously this man hates to be wrong so he asks “If the sheet is hanging low enough for you to pull, how do you get it?”
“By using my hand to roll the bathroom tissue upward until the spool will drop the end down below.”
Apparently, he just hits the roll? Weird right?
The Verdict
As there will never be a true solution to this dilemma, I would still like to leave the Verdict as, “Whichever way the woman would like, is the correct way.”
The Stats
Believe it or not, I actually found some statistics of this dilemma online, and although I personally don’t agree with them, I thought I’d share with you.
According to a Cottonelle Roll Poll:
• 72% – hang toilet paper with the first sheet going over the roll
• 28%- prefer to hang the first sheet under the roll
This I simply cannot believe however, based on Other uses of bathroom tissue, it may hold true.
• Nose Care – 61%
• Wiping small spills – 17%,
• Removing makeup – 8%,
• Cleaning mirrors – 7%,
• Cleaning a child’s hands/face – 3%
• To cover the toilet seat, cleaning glasses
I base my findings simply on the wiping of one’s bum or girly parts after using the toilet for elimination uses only.
What Do You Think of the Findings?
Based solely on using the bathroom tissue for it’s #1 use, what do you think? Over or Under?
Does your opinion change based on Other uses?
