The Most Luxurious of Lipsticks

By Thecurlycasualista @curlycasualista
The Most Luxurious of Lipsticks Ladies, I have become a convert to the land of Tom Ford (aka the most gorgeously packaged and pigmented, yet most outrageously expensive makeup line ever). It all began when Anna reviewed the lip shade, Wild Ginger, and I decided I needed it right then and there. But $49 just seemed a bit ridiculous for a lipstick, so I spent hours with the Google identifying shades in other brands that beauty bloggers the world over had said were good dups to this glorious shade. But the general consensus was that many shades could come close, but none could match the super-pigmented, red-orange of Wild Ginger - which I can verify, as I bought 3 of them. So while at the Nordstrom Beauty Event, when I searched high and low for stumbled upon the Tom Ford reps, I knew it was fate and I would be going home with a beautifully packaged lipstick.
But, as the super helpful rep was swatching Wild Ginger on the back of my hand, she also snuck in a stripe of True Coral, a bright pinky-orange shade. And I fell in love all over again. I resisted picking that bad boy up for approximately two days before I placed an online order and waited for it to arrive in my eager fists.  The Most Luxurious of Lipsticks Guys, these are so worth it. They're super-pigmented and creamy. It's not a matte finish, instead it's got a slight sheen to it. It's absolutely perfect and the light vanilla smell that apparently accompanies all Tom Ford products is delightful. Wild Ginger is such a bright, happy color. It runs more orange on me, but looks more red on others. It's universally flattering. True Coral is officially my happiest lipstick color and warms up my entire face. Both shades are incredibly opaque, and I can get a few hours wear out of these before I have to reapply. And the packaging makes them feel so luxe and expensive (ahem, Tom Ford, they are). My one complaint is the shape of the bullet - it's got a round tip instead of a point. I don't have a very full, defined top lip, so I use the point found on most lipsticks to define my cupid's bow. Oh well, I guess a girl can't have everything
Now, maybe I should get a neutral to add to my collection, no?
