It's no secret that I'm something of a makeup junkie (I wish I could say that this is how my makeup looks now, but it's even more full....). So when Influenster contacted me to tell me I was going to receive their Glamour VoxBox by Mary Kay, I was super pumped. Makeup! And from a very reputable company, whose products I've used before and really admire. Sign me up! Plus, look how adorable the packaging was!
In the box were 5 full-sized products: Lash Primer, Lash Love Lengthening Mascara, Cream Eye Color in Violet Storm, True Dimensions Lipstick in Pink Cherie, and a Cream Eye Color/Concealer Brush. Thanks, Influenster and Mary Kay!
Now, I've got quite possibly the longest eyelashes I've ever seen on anyone (except my brother...how is that fair, I ask?). So I've never really seen the need for eyelash primer, and I generally prefer to use volumizing mascara, as my lashes don't need any more length. However, I like this primer. It gives my volumizing mascara a little more oomph. As for the mascara, it did nothing special for me. I didn't notice any great lengthening properties, and it certainly wasn't volumizing. However, it was a nice formula, didn't clump, nor did it smudge (despite DC heat). It's a good option, I think, for those with shorter lashes, and I will definitely use it on days when I'm going for a natural look!
For some reason, cream eye shadows had totally dropped off my radar prior to receiving this. How, I'm not sure because they are genius. Eliminating the need for primer, this shadow provides great coverage, stays put for hours, and is an awesome color. As a brown-eyed gal, I love me some purple, and this is a great color that's subtle, but still noticeable. Love, love, love, love!
I love pink lipstick! I have so many (post on that upcoming). This is a great formula. It's creamy, moisturizing, and a great middle ground between matte and glossy. The staying power was good for a non-matte lipstick and the coverage is opaque. My only complaint is that the pink is a little too blue. I prefer a slightly warmer pink. However, as I return to my
I'm obsessed with this brush. It's perfect. I apply the cream shadow with it and the coverage is wonderful, and it is easy to manipulate. The bristles are soft, but stiff enough for applying cream-based products. I'm a fan and think I am going to check out other Mary Kay brushes!
Have you ever used Mary Kay products before?
