The Koolest, Kim ...

Posted on the 05 February 2014 by Tlb Music Blog @TLB_Blog
Long-term TLB friend & favourite, Kimberly Anne, has finally unveiled the first in what is sure to be a new string of incredible material. Hard As Hello, which has already been hailed by one, Mr Zane Lowe, propels Kimberly back into the limelight, and whilst we're very aware that her presence in the grand scheme of things hasn't quite reached its peak; with music like this, we know the world is about to be this wonderful woman's oyster.
The Koolest, Kim ...It's easy to tell how far Kim has come if you knew any of her music before. The fact is, she has stuck to the organic, but jivey, AfroFolk genre that she has become renowned for, but the whole production has come along way; the professionalism of it all really is spectacular; and to see little old Kim really shoot through the industry and become, what we believe to be, one of the most hopeful and brilliant new artists this year will see ... really hits us with a remarkable sense of pride.
The percussion, like we said, really gives it that jivey feeling. The feeling that you can get up and have a little move around, despite the actual subject of the song being a solemn one, is a refreshing one, and something we don't really believe anyone else to have mastered in the same way.
It's not just the catchiness that captures you on this one, it's the element of knowledge and empowerment you'll feel alongside it. You feel like you already know the words, and really can appreciate and relate to the emotions that Kimberly so boldly, and beautifully, conveys throughout ... something that not many people are capable of doing in the industry to be honest.
In short, this is one of the most exciting people we've ever found at TLB, and we suspect that many of you will begin latching onto her name soon. The likes of Bury It There, and Never Be Yours, started our infatuation, and to see this young woman really get to grips with her own style and genre in this beauty, makes us wonder just how far she might get. Keep your eyes and ears peeled, because it is just a matter of time until the name "Kimberly Anne" is on everyone's lips.
Paul.
