Nestled on the corner of the Hotel Lincoln in Chicago, The Kennison is a contemporary restaurant and bar with lovely park views.
We wandered over for a late brunch, as it just so happened there was an air show occurring over Lake Michigan. We figured we could enjoy the show and some classic American fare al fresco.
Phil, Joey Buttons, and I were thrilled that the patio was pet-friendly. After all, we didn't drag the little guy on a plane ride to Chicago only to stick him in a hotel all weekend! To kick off the weekend, we started with a round of brunch cocktails. Phil had a Mezcal Bloody Maria and I opted for an Elderflower Mimosa.
We headed outside to enjoy the warm afternoon. One thing that I learned about Chicago on this trip is that the summer weather is absolutely gorgeous. Blue skies, a warm breeze, and next to zero humidity is my definition of perfection.
After indulging in some warm, flakey biscuits and raspberry jam, Phil ordered a classic American breakfast with fried eggs, thick-cut bacon and crispy home-fries. The quality of the ingredients really shined and everything was seasoned beautifully. I ordered the BLT Benedict which also featured thick cut bacon and was smothered in a tomato Bernaise sauce. It was rich and creamy, and the perfect portion.
All in all, a delicious Brunch with amazing service. Would highly-recommend!
