The Color of Hope is Pink!

One of my best friends spent this past year enduring surgery and recovering from breast cancer. Thank goodness my friend is diligent about checkups and followups, because it saved her life! I remember like it was yesterday sitting in the Sloan Kettering office discussing the plan of action and options. She had to make the most difficult decision of either lumpectomy or radical mastectomy. I held her hand as she followed her gut and chose the latter. This choice also saved her life, because upon surgery they found an undetected aggressive growth and caught it early! I am so proud of her attitude and stamina throughout this past difficult year! She just celebrated her birthday this past week, and although it seemed like a bitter sweet year I am so glad she is here to enjoy her 48th.. I know there will be good things to come and I am so happy she has a future to look forward to due to her willingness to stay informed about her body and breast health! I wish all women a safe journey throughout life and to those who have to endure this form of cancer, please stay strong there is hope! I thought I would post ways to bring a little pink in to our lives.. Happy Monday!
