The Big Project Returns

By Crossstitchyourheart @TMNienaber

Good morning everyone, at least it’s morning here, I’m not sure about where you are.  I’ve been up most of the night thanks to some kind of attack illness which is very unpleasant.  Plus side is, I have an excuse to stay in bed, not go to class, and watch t.v. all day!  Actually I’ll be trying to get some homework done for my online classes, catch up on cross stitching, and keep reading 1Q84.  I’m about half way through with it and it’s finally started to get exciting, although I’m not sure where else this book can go considering I feel like I’m at the climax now and there’s several hundred pages left to go…we’ll see.

As promised I finally have pictures of the “big project” to share with you all

The Big Project Returns
I’m working the silhouettes of the couple now, although It’s hard to tell from what’s finished now.  It is coming together easily and if I had more time than I do I’d probably be able to finish it in about 2 months.  My biggest challenge with this piece is trying to get the tension right with my stitches.  It still bothers me this is a cream aida cloth and the pattern is actually supposed to be a night scene.  Meaning too tight of a tension will cause the light cloth to show through and ruin the effect.  Things have been going well for the most part, but the all black silhouettes are giving me some problem.  It’s hard to tell from this picture, but the top part of the finished leg has a lot of cloth showing through.  I’m hoping when I finish filling in the sections around it this will be toned down, otherwise I might have to fill in with a single strand xstitch over what’s already there.

Anyone have tips on keeping tension perfect?

Hope you’re all having a good day, stay healthy! (unlike me, who is hiding under covers with a water bottle and the t.v. remote)
