The Big Fat Burner Advertising Con

By Sally Wade

Two pictures side by side, one in a slight off color hue showing a guy looking less than happy with his gut hanging over his belt. The other in bright vibrant color  of the same guy now smiling, looking ripped and with extra white teeth. These are the before and after pictures that Fat Burner companies so often use to flog their products.

How often have you come across these type of ads that promise this amazing makeover just by taking a fat burning pill. While the aspirational pictures do sell lots of products for the manufacturers it very misleading.

The Fat Burning Dud

A fat burning supplement is as about as good as as a green M&M when not taken properly. If yo look up the meaning of the word “Supplement” you will see it says something along the lines of:

something added to complete a thing, supply a deficiency, or reinforce or extend a whole.

To put this in perspective when considering a fat burner to lose weight, you have to remember they are any there to supplement or support weight loss. You will not achieve your weight loss goals by taking fat burners in isolation.

To realize any success you have to go on a calorie restrictive diet and incorporate some form of exercise in the process. This makes up 80% of your weight loss. Fat burner supplements only benefit is to supplement that 80% by increasing metabolism, energy levels and possibly suppressing appetites. Key to all this is the fat that you store is burned off for energy.

So without the 80% your Fat Burner becomes a dud. Its useless if not used in conjunction with the Diet and exercise mentioned above.

How to Get the Most Out of a Fat Burner

So we have established that yo can spend over $100 a Fat Burner Supplement and get absolutely no result. Cue the forums with posts of SCAM, RIPP OFF, this stuff doesn’t work…DON’T BUY!!

Okay enough of being ignorant. So you now know you will get the best results if you go on a proper diet and put some exercise.

Fat burners can come in different strengths so if you are starting out make sure you go for a product that is not too strong. This is all down to the ingredients so make sure you do some research.

Hunger control can be a big stumbling block so make sure you choose a fat burner with Hoodia as one of its ingredients as it has very effective appetite suppressant qualities. You will find your energy levels drop so other ingredients to consider are caffeine, Synephrine or Yohimbe. These are all stimulants and will give your body a much needed boost to get through the day.

Timing is Everything

As mentioned most Fat Burners will contain some form of stimulant and this can play havoc with your sleep if you take a fat burner supplement late at night. As a matter of course try and make sure you don’t take any pills after 6 o’clock in the evening.

You may find over time the stimulant effect will drop as your body becomes use to it so it may be a good idea to change the products you take to ensure you body still feels the effects.

Protein is Key to Successful Fat Burner Use

Its vitally important that you you have enough protein in your diet. This will ensure that you maintain lean muscle mass.

The appetite suppressing tenancies over time will cause you to lower your calorie intake and the amount of protein.

The amount of protein you intake will make or break your diet or physique you’re aiming for, so while you can cut back on carbs and fats you still need to up the protein levels.
