The Battle Of The Hair Wands

The Battle Of The Hair WandsEnrapture Totem Styler £74.99
The enrapture totem styler is something that is raved about quite a bit in the blogging world. I first heard of it through Llymlrs, she has gorgeous hair so I brought it and hoped mine would look the same as hers!
First of all, the curler itself is so easy to use, you plug it in, turn it on, pick your heat setting and your away. A lot of them take ages to heat up or don't heat up enough etc. But this was was nice and simple.
However, there were two issues I found with this wand.
The first one is the clamp (I didn't really know what to call it) The bit that holds your hair down as you wrap the rest of it round? Well, I clamp the ends of my hair and roll upwards, and where I had clamped it it would always leave a strange kink, not a curl, like a dent in my hair.
It also really frazzled the ends of my hair and leaving my hair looking very dry and stiff.
My second issue is that my hair is quite thick, Llymlrs hair appears to be quite thin, and not only does it take me forever to do all of my hair, but it also leaves me with a large amount of curls in my hair. And I look a bit like Selma from the Simpsons.
I think if my hair was longer, they would be really good, but at the moment I am feeling very disapointed with myself for buying this at the price they are!
The Battle Of The Hair WandsBABYLISS (2285U) Curling Wand
This curling wand is much much cheaper, the link i've left is to currys for just £19.99 and I actually got mine off eBay for £7.00 which is a bargain.
Now clearly there is one big difference between the two stylers, the size of the wand, which obviously gives two completely different types of curls. The totem styler giving large bouncy curls and this one giving more tighter shakira like curls.
I also faced a few problems with this wand. It has no clamp!! It is such an awkward process trying to use this, twisting the wand and your hands around in all different angles in order to try and curl it how you want, and I don't want to be faffing round like that especially before a night out.
Secondly, before I said how a lot of curler don't get hot enough. Well that is these all over! Some of you may have these and disagree but I just felt I had to hold my hair around these for about 2 minutes before I saw any curl coming through, especially when my hair naturally is pretty much dead straight!
I don't know if you're like me but whenever I try products like these I always imagine it as if I was doing it before a night out as I tend to get quite stressy and panicky whilst getting ready and neither of these would be a smooth process, both a bit of a nightmare.
But if I had some extra time, I would definitley opt for the Enrapture styler, at least with this one if I had Selma curls I can just brush them out and wait for them to drop a bit then hair spray it.
Whereas with the babyliss curlers I'd probably sit there for about a week before all my hair is curled!
What curlers do you use?
