The Americans - TV Review
Right from the beginning of the pilot episode, The Americans kept me hooked throughout the entire first season telling the brilliant story of two KGB spies posing as an ordinary couple in the old 1981 America. The show received positive feedback from the audience thanks to Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys’ terrific performance of playing the roles of the two badass Russian spies who made every one of those thriller, suspense, sex and violence-filled episodes more than entertaining.
The most compelling fact that kept the interest throughout the show was that it wasn't just another spy show meant to praise the US. Instead of a predictable story about two American spies, this show focused around two Russian spies who works against the USA. It was truly amazing how Joe Weisberg created these two characters who lives insanely dangerous lives while running a travel agency as a cover and with an FBI agent (Noah Emmerich) living next door.
The Americans - TV Review
As a big fan of noir-films and spy related shows, I couldn't' ask for more with The Americans. It was seemingly perfect in every way. However, the ending of the relationship between Elizabeth and Phillip was a little disappointing as it progressed at a fast pace. It doesn't make sense that they decided to end a decade long cover story over just one lie, in the middle of the first season. They could have at least dragged the story for couple more seasons. The disappointing love story aside, the show was brilliant. I certainly enjoyed their constant change of appearance for different missions and how they made changes to their lives for a mission.
I wonder if this how those expert international private investigator companies like Wymoo do their secret spy work. I bet their investigators must be even better than the Jennings couple, because doing spy stuff in real life is not as easy as it seems. Either way, I definitely liked the way “The Americans” balanced intense drama, action and suspense all together, bringing the show to the level of one of the best anti-hero TV shows I've ever seen.

I’m really looking forward to see what The Americans have in store for us in the upcoming season. If you haven’t seen this show yet, I highly recommend you to try it, as it will keep you coming back for more at the end of every single episode. That’s a promise.
