I’ve been blogging about the blame, shame, discrimination and stigma associated with mental illness for over a year now and it was a good feeling, a satisfactory feeling to hear that I am one of the nominees for the 2012 WEGO Health Activist Awards which is given to someone who exemplifies the use of one particular social platform to raise awareness about a certain subject, in my case, about the change I would like to see in the way people handle, talk about and feel when they hear the word mental illness.
