Thanksgiving Tablescape

By Bigcitylittleblog @feakins

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. Anytime you get the family together for a big ol' feast is okay by me! Last year, my husband and I hosted our very first Thanksgiving as adults and it went off without a hitch. I wanted to set the table in a festive manner, so I went looking for a little Pinspiration, and came across this beautiful tablescape from Julie Blanner. If you haven't checked out her blog yet, it's definitely worth a visit! I love a rustic look, so I made a few tweaks to make it my own.

Living in a small New York City apartment, I don't even own a kitchen table! So the first step was to find enough seating for 11. I found an inexpensive vendor in Brooklyn with 2 6-ft long tables and 11 padded fold-out chairs. Then I got to decorating. I love the way colorful foods pop on neutral tablescapes, so I purchased 2 60 x 102″ ivory tablecloths

and matching cloth napkins

down the center.

Instead of purchasing a flower arrangement as a centerpiece (which can be super expensive) I sporadically placed seasonal red apples and candles between branches of seeded eucalyptus. I used these birch covered candle holders

as well as these woodland tea light candle holders

- placing the taller ones closer to the center of the tables and the shorter ones closer to the ends.

For the setting, I tied rustic bailing twine

around napkins and stuck a rosemary sprig in for some color. Again- super inexpensive, easy, and pretty! Want to recreate this look at home? Here's what you'll need:
