Tears in My Eyes

SERENADE 2 SENIORS   An Alzheimer’s Poem

Tears in my eyes

Surrounded  by people, it’s hard to talk.

Surrounded by walls, it’s hard to walk.

I need the love my wife gives, then cries.

The smile on my face covers tears in my eyes.

I’m puzzled by thoughts, I can no longer express

I’m bothered with doubts, I can no longer redress.

Support is an option I cannot access.

My body is able, my mind a big mess.
