tawa pulao recipe - pulao recipe or you can say a one pot meal which is made with veggies and pav bhaji masala or using the leftover masala with white rice.I already shared how to make bhaji in pav bhaji post as it involves cooked vegetables ,mashed and served with dinner rolls.Here we are using the same masala for making this pulao.This is a famous street food from Mumbai,there you can see more more recipes to indulge.

My friend who is in Mumbai told so many recipes and there are so many variations too.I insisted me to try some non veg street food recipes with eggs and chicken.She gave so many ideas and we chat about this a year back exactly.Sure i will share those recipes and i want to taste in person instead of making it in home.So that i will able to detect the ingredients and magic in them.:)

If you are having left over masala or bhaji with you,then make rice and fluff up them.Heat oil in the kadai,then add the leftover masala.Add little water and then stir it till oil separates then add the steamed rice and serve.

If you are preparing the bhaji from scratch,then follow the recipe here.,I made this in my own version ,so you can expect some variation here.

Use eggplant to avoid butter in the recipe and i did not used butter here in this recipe.I used just ordinary vegetable oil for cooking.

Mash the potato before adding it to the recipe.You have to add it after adding masala.

easy pulao made with steamed rice and veggies

Ingredients
  • steamed rice - 2 cup
  • onion - 1 finely chopped
  • tomato - 1 finely chopped
  • ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
  • mixed vegetables - 1 cup ,finely chopped
  • capsicum - 1 finely chopped
  • red chilli powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • pav bhaji masala - 2 teaspoons
  • green chilli - 1 slit
  • salt - to taste
  • oil - as needed
  • coriander leaves - as needed
  • cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • cardamom pods - 2
  • bay leaf - 1
Instructions
  1. Heat oil in the kadai,then add the cumin seeds,cardamom pods,bay leaf.Once it splutters add finely chopped onions to it.
  2. Saute it well and then add ginger garlic paste and saute it till it get done.
  3. Add finely chopped tomato to it and cook it till get mushy.Now add mixed vegetables and capsicum to it and saute it and add salt to it.
  4. Mix it and add little water to it ,to cook them.Once water starting evaporating,mash the veggies with the masher.
  5. Now add red chilli powder and pav bhaji masala to it and mix everything without burning the masala..
  6. Now add little more water to it and then cook till the oil separates and it starts to thicken.
  7. Now add the steamed rice and keep on mixing without breaking the rice.
  8. Add coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
  9. serve piping hot with raita.
