This may have been the most interesting story i have heard all day. A Women from Yonkers, NY(Tanit Buday) is suing the New York Yankees. Over their top-hat logo which she claims was created by here late uncle in 1936 for than Yankees Owner Jacob Ruppert.
Buday who is now 63, is "seeking unspecified damages for copyright infringement, unjust enrichment and breach of contract with her uncle, Kenneth Timur".This is interesting because the Yankees famed logo was created by Henry Alonzo "Lon" Keller.
So either Henry Alonzo "Lon" Keller stole it or Tanit Buday is lying. Well its been over 70 years so im gonna go with a famous artist here.
Yankees spokes women Alice McGillion presented some great quotes by saying "there's no proof" of Buday's claim". "This is a wonderful country," "where anybody can sue for anything, even when the allegations are over 70 years old."
We will have to see what happens but it seems Tanit Buday is just doing this for money.
