Tag Time : The 90's Tag
So you want to know what i did in the 90s? well this TAG Will tell you what got up though out my Childhood living in the 90s.
Q1What TV Stations/Channels Did You Used To Watch? As there was so many programmes and tv channels to choose from it was so hard to keep it on one channel every time, We used to have the old Telewest box (Now virgin media) and i would be glued to that over the weekends and after school. I used to watch a lot of Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network as they had some great shows like Cow & Chicken, Dexters Lab and Johnny bravo and Nickelodeon had so many that i cannot remember half of them i do remember watching Keenan & Kel and the Amanda show. I would also love to watch BBC two on Friday nights with my dad as they had something called the comedy show that started from 9.00 pm with Shooting stars and then Red Dwarf.
Q2What Was Your Favourite Shows? There was so many programmes on at the time i just couldn't remember what i loved the most i do know that i was a huge Shooting stars fan and i would sit down with my dad every Friday night and watch it with him and also i used to love Red Dwaf that was on after Shooting stars. As i was only 8 in 1997 i could only remember watching BBC 2 comedy night with my dad and watching a lot of comedy stuff. So Shooting stars was one of my favourites growing up.
Q3.Did You Used To Watch Any Weekend Shows?I used to watch SM:TV Live & CD:UK Live & Kicking and i would only watch it for the cartoons and i would never watch the full 3 hours of each programme as it was kinda boring, I would always watch CD:UK to see what new music was coming out that following week and then in the early 2000's I watched Smile & The Saturday show And Top Of The Pops Saturday.
Q4.What Was Your Favourite Band?I can remember that i was a huge Spice Girls fan as i had all of there products from there clothing, Dolls , Shoes and Sweets. I used the Impulse Spice every day for school and i had the full range from the Christmas 1997 range in ASDA. I was also a Steps fan as i collected the CD's and on my 10th Birthday i went to see them live in Birmingham and it was one the best concerts that i had ever been too, I am on the video when the show was recored in 2000.Q5.Favourite Gadgets/Toys?/Clothing?I had so much of gadgets and toys throughout my childhood and i can recall having thousands of tamagotchi's and they all kept dying on me and i loved my toy cars and garages. I loved playing with Barbie dolls and i had the popular 1994 Sindy Barbie Mountain Fun Space 4x4 Holiday home,I also loved the get set Chocolate Factory set where you make your own pieces of Chocolate with the moulds that was provided in the kit.
Q6.What Was Your Favourite Piece Of Clothing You Had?That would have to be my skirt and trousers set that was bought from Tammy girl witch was blue and had white flowers around the skirt it was the best pair of trousers that i had, I think my mom bought them from me as i had a event to go to in Cheltenham with my school. I also had a lovely flower dress that was in Blue and my Tammy Girl sandals witch i loved very much.
Q7.Where Did You Used To Do Your Weekly Shop?We used to do our weekly and fortnightly shop in ASDA as we only lived a few minutes away from there it was easy for us to get there, As my mom and step dad was working and bringing in enough money we would spend quite a bit in there each time when we went food Shopping.I can remember Christmas 1997 i would beg my mom to get me all of the Spice girls stuff and most of it was sold out and i can remember that i had some for Christmas that year! In November we had bought a massive firework that was called Big Ben and it was over £100 and i cried and begged my mom to get it for me and in the end she got it for me and then let it off that same night after we had bough it. ASDA these days has changed so much since my early childhood and everything has gone up I can remember that we would spend over £200 -£300 on Food shopping and we had plenty and today its hardly anything.
Q8.Did You Remember The Millennium  If So What Was Your Best Bits?I can only remember a little bit of it as i was 10 and i can also remember about the Millennim dome in London that was being built and i saw a lot of clothing in ASDA For the massive event. I had a black and sliver T-Shirt that had 2000 on it and it was really nice. My brother was very ill with the Millennium bug and he was living with my dad at the time and was so ill we didn't know if he was gonna pull though or not. My brother did make a full recovery and was back on his feet again in a few weeks after having the bug, It was very scary for a 10 year old to see.Q9.Do You Remember Using The Internet For The Very First Time?OMG yes i do my dad had a old computer in his bedroom and i can remember that we had to use dial up internet that took forever to load. My dad had a lot of computer magazines that he had thought my childhood and they had free computer software with them  and i would try and use them to see what they did. I remember that old dial tone that we had to listen to and it would drive me insane and then you get get of the internet as i wanna use the phone it was very slow and old boring sites. I can remember using Google and Amazon for the first time in 1997.
Q10.What Did You Do With Your Weekends?I used to spend a lot of time seeing and spending time with my ex best friend as we used to live in the same street so it was very easy to do things with them. I used to go with them to visit there dad with there older sisters on Friday evenings. Apart from that i didn't hardly do anything on the weekends only go into town with my ex best friend and watch TV.
Q11. Do you remember those famous BBC 2 Idents?OMG yes i remember them very well and my favorite was the fluffy dog ident that was first shown in 1993 when i was 4.  There is one that used to scare me and that was called silk as it was very scary music and i would hide behind the sofa when that ident came on. As i am a lot older now it doesn't scare me anymore. I also like the Car and optics idents too. I am so glad that the BBC brought them back for there 50th anniversary.
