I'm not sure if they've renovated since Odessa moved out but I think the door that's been remodeled into a bar is new? Overall it's a lovely space with lots of natural light.
Calamari starter.
Given it's size I was glad we shared the calamari starter. The delightful squid rings were light and crispy with just the right amount of texture but they were ever so nearly overshadowed by the zingy tomato based sauce. I could have eaten it by itself with a spoon!
Super Nachos.
Himself went for the nachos and due to us arriving hideously early he luckily availed of the special early bird offer of €8.95. These nachos are sort of upside down to what you'd normally expect which means you're not left with a globby, squishy mess before you get to the end!
Tuna sashimi tacos.
I went for the sashimi tuna tacos. They weren't at all what I expected. Firstly I thought the tuna would be raw rather than lightly seared and secondly not only was the entire dish huge it was packed with an overly generous amount of tuna! I wonder, considering the dish costs €22.95, if it would benefit from being smaller and cheaper? I hate to waste! Besides all that it was delicious, the lovely fresh vegetables really did compliment the seared tuna nicely and the perfectly ripe avocado set it all off.
A pretty girl and an amaretto sour.
We added a couple of cocktails to the meal for good measure. There's a decent wine list too. In future I think I'll postpone the cocktails until after the meal, my head was light trying to take in all the flavours, I nearly got whiplash!
Pop ups are always coy about how long they'll be around for so I didn't even attempt to ask how long they'll be temporarily forcing Odessa to relocate, who knows, maybe they'll stick around for a while and torture us some more!
