It was a lovely rainy weather day so I sat outside. Perfect setting to set the mood! I started with their Red Wine Sangria and jumped to the live grills counter. Peri peri marinated prawns and sausages to kill for!! The sangria was my least favorite out of all the cocktails I tried, but it was still decent. This is because the other cocktails were simply fabulous! The live grill section was the best part of the brunch. Such flavourful, juicy, yummy grills- excellent is an understatement! The thyme scented basa was a dream! A brunch here should only be about grills! Keep a lot of space in your stomach for this.
The anti pasti section had a range of salads, dips, breads and a lot of fresh ingredients being the dominant character here. Surprisingly, my favorite dip was babaganoush, which isn't the case ever! Loved the dips, the chicken salad, fish mousse, and the fresh breads. Tabula Beach does some serious delicious pizzas in their brunch! Small in size so you can try other things too, very thin and crisp, and loaded with that lovely cheese. Ordered the 3 Cheese Pepperoni and could only drool over it!
Tried their Poached Eggs with Ham. Not at all impressive. The yolk wasn't runny at all, and the only thing good about this dish was the accompanying hash brown which was crisp and beautiful! Also tried their Mushroom Risotto which was very light. The mushroom shone so well in the dish! Not heavy on the stomach- you could gobble up this risotto within minutes and still feel light. Tried the Crispy Chicken Slider which was pure comofort food. Served with such nice potato wedges on the side, the sliders had a really juicy patty and a sweet balanced dressing on the bun.
Desserts were a very sad affaire. That's where Tabula Beach doesn't even rank for me. Very average blueberry based dessert, a chocolate cupcake with vanilla frosting, fresh waffles served with chocolate sauce and caramel dressing. Nothing was good out of these. The only saving grace was the chocolate mud cake. They should really up their game with the desserts.
The cocktails at this brunch are stupendous! Be it a frozen Watermelon Daiquiri, a Basil Apple Martini, Tangerine Caipiroska or Lemongrass and Ginger Martini. Their cocktails were really good! Well-balanced, not too sweet and potent enough.
The staff is very prompt and alert, they give you good suggestions from the menu, the food is really really good, and the best part is value for money. You really do get great value for your buck.
