I honestly don't know where to begin with Sweet Grass Grill in Tarrytown, NY, perched high atop Main Street on the way to the Hudson River.
It's not all vegan but what is vegan is creative and tasty and different.
On my first visit I got the buffalo wings with blue cheese. All vegan. All awesome. I even requested the blue cheese recipe but since I couldn't get it, I got some extra to bring home.
I also had their decadent Alfredo-type pasta with chunks of smoked tofu and mushrooms. Also all vegan. And super filling.
When I went for brunch I had a spicy tofu scramble with soy cheese and a vegetable hash. Total goodness. Sure beats the english muffin or hash browns I have to resort to in most brunch places.
Did I mention dessert? Chocolate pudding. Decadent, chocolatey ~ nothing vegetable-y about it! Good thing it's not an endless bowl they bring around. I was tempted to lick mine clean.
Burgers, pastas, eggs. If you are with vegan skeptics, bring them. They can eat too. But if they are smart, they will eat like a vegan. I mean, avocado toast? Really ~ there is nothing bad to say about mashed, seasoned avocado on crispy bread, whether you are vegan or otherwise ~ and there is so much more!
