Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!
I made these rum balls a few days ago with my son’s leftover birthday cake. When my mom saw them, she said I used to ask her to buy me rum balls all the time when I was a kid. I was a huge fan then, still am now.
There’s something magical about rum balls. Somehow I feel happy after eating them and I’m sharing my happiness with you.
Here’s the recipe for rum balls, adapted from Aunty Yochana. Enjoy!
RUM BALLS
Makes about 30
Ingredients:
- 200 gram chocolate cake
- 60 gram nuts (I used 30 gram peanuts, 30 gram cashew nuts)
- 30 gram shredded coconut
- 2 tablespoon rum or coffee liquor (I used Kahlua)
- 2 tablespoon melted butter
- 80 gram chocolate rice
Method:
- Break the chocolate cake into small pieces and place in a big bowl.
- Add nuts, shredded coconut, liquor and melted butter. Mix well.
- Take 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll into a ball. Coat ball with chocolate rice and place in fridge for 30 minutes. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
