Swatches and Review :: Maybelline Color Show Lipstick in Mauve Power

Okay, if you haven't yet come across these yet at other beauty shop outlets or online, its probably because till August you shouldn't be expecting. Maybelline came up with this Collection exclusively for Health and Glow Stores and so until August this collection won't be hitting any online site or other beauty shop outlets (so i am told). 


Well either ways you should visit Health and Glow once and here's why ::
Pros ::

• Price :: For 299R its a steal and you have 24 colors to choose from
• Formula :: Creamy formula doesn't dry out the lips
• Staying Power :: More than 6 hrs if careful while eating and sipping beverages or stays for an average of 3-4 hrs if eating something like chinese or pizza or any other oily and greasy stuff
• Fades slightly but leaves a tint behind
• Doesn't settle in fine lines even after fading

Here are the swatches ::






Cons :: 

• It has slight hints of pearl finish which i detest
• Even in 24 colors, none were bang on trend. They are just simple basic colors, period!!
• Packing is way too simple and feels plasticky 
• Lipstick tranfers 

For me these were disappointment because i absolutely loved their Lip Polish and Pink Alert Collections and this comes nowhere near them. Probably they have just targetted Teens and College goers and wanted to keep it budget friendly. And for that one point they did an awesome job. And packaging actually tempted me to think there might be some bright hues as well which infact isn't the case if you see the first pic which has swatches of all 24 on hand. Even taking consideration that lighting was bad i wasn't tempted to get more than two. That said i want to emphasize on one point though, all the red color lovers might be in for surprise. They have 2-3 red hued shades which am sure is actually pretty good considering the fact that many of us always look for that budget friendly Red Lipstick always.
So go on and give yourself a treat of these swatches, you might like a lipstick or two for sure!!
