Struggling to Lose the Baby Weight?

Posted on the 15 November 2015 by Dave Nevue

What should I eat when I'm trying to lose the baby weight?

First of all, you should definitely not starve yourself. Be nice to yourself and try to give yourself time. It took you nine months to gain all that weight and you could at least have the patience to let the weight loss take the same amount of time. Although I know it is very hard to be patient when all you dream about is to get your pre-pregnancy body back and be able to fit into your clothes again.

Secondly, you need energy to take care of your newborn. And you definitely need energy when you don't get enough sleep. So you have to eat! But be careful when you are choosing the right food for you. Skip the food that will not give you anything but empty calories. When you are tired you long for something sweet, sugar, I know, but sugar is just a quick fix. Only moments after the intake you will fall flat again and you are probably even more tired than before.

Eat! But choose the smart stuff - Protein!

Protein will make you fuller for a longer period of time. You will find protein in meat, chicken, fish and seafood (tuna, cod, sardine, salmon, shrimps), eggs, certain beans such as soya beans, lentils, mung beans, white beans, chickpeas, and in vegetables, such as broccoli and different types of cabbages, but note that the vegetables contain much less protein than for example the beans, but are good for you for other reasons.
