Stroganoff and Secret Recipe Club

Welcome to this months Secret Recipe Club. This month I got Kates Kitchen. Kate and her Sou Chef Connie live in Indianapolis. She has three wonderful step children and two grand kids. She is a financial planner who loves to cook and eat. She also loves gardening.  Her favorite teams is the Colts and the Red Sox. She also loves Civic Theater.

I decided to make her Stroganoff. We all loved it and think you will to.

Stroganoff

Ingredients:

lb steak or stew beef
1 medium onion
12 oz mushrooms
2 T olive oil
1 T chopped garlic
1 can consomme
1 T red wine
1 T flour
1 c light sour cream

Directions:

Add 1 tablespoon of oil to a skillet and add the beef until browned on all sides, remove from the pan and set aside.
Add onions to the pan and allow to cook until translucent about 5 minutes. Add the mushroom and cook an additional 5 minutes.
Add the chopped garlic and cook another 1-2 minutes. Add the flour and cook for another 3 minutes.
Return the beef to the pan and add the consume and wine. Cook until thickened about 10 minutes.
Stir in sour cream.
Serve over egg noodles.
