Strawberries...Vegan Candy
Did you know strawberries are one of the healthiest foods you can eat?  8 large strawberries make approximately a 1 cup serving, and the amount of vitamin C alone is incredible! One serving is only 49 calories, and even has 1 gram of protein. While that same serving has 7g of sugar, better to get it naturally than from processed foods – these gorgeous nuggets are packed with flavor and good for you at the same time.
Aside from eating them on their own, strawberries are most commonly used in fruit salads, to make shortcake, slivered into a spinach salad, as a topping for cheesecake or turned into jam.  At Valentine’s Day, and for any other special occasion, (or just to indulge,) my favorite way to enjoy them is to eat them enrobed in really great, non-dairy chocolate.  I mean, how beautiful is a juicy, red, long-stemmed strawberry smothered in chocolate?  Of course I’d pair it with champagne…
When I was a little girl I went to a wedding and they had these luscious strawberries and a bowl of sour cream next to a bowl of raw sugar.  You rolled a berry into the cream, and then topped it with the sugar.  Another truly decadent way to enjoy them.  Why wait until Valentine’s Day?  Pick up some today!
