I’m back in Singapore from a trip to Thailand last week and have been busy spending time with family and catching up with friends. Everyone has been telling me how perfect my timing was, to touch down Singapore right after the haze is gone (I hope it doesn’t come back!). I was searching for N95 masks in a few pharmacies in Dubai but they don’t have it. The guy at the last pharmacy I tried even asked me “Is it a brand?” Ok, never mind. Luckily there is no need for the mask now.
If you like my last post on Honey Glazed Pork Belly, you will like this Sticky Pork Ribs. It uses the same honey glaze but this finger-licking good dish takes a lot less time to prepare. It’s less fattening too!
Here’s the recipe for sticky pork ribs. Enjoy!
STICKY PORK RIBS
Ingredients:
- 450 gram pork ribs
- 2 cloves garlic, lightly flattened with cleaver
- 1 star anise
- ½ teaspoon black peppercorn
- ½ teaspoon white peppercorn
- 1 tablespoon huadiao wine 花雕酒
- ½ teaspoon sesame oil
- ½ teaspoon salt
Ingredients for Honey Glaze:
- 4 tablespoon honey
- 2 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon chinese 5-spice powder
Method:
- Mix all the ingredients for the honey glaze together and set aside.
- Place pork ribs and all other ingredients in a pot and fill pot with water (enough to cover all ingredients). Bring to boil, then lower heat to simmer for 30 minutes. Remove pork ribs and dry it with kitchen paper. Discard the rest of the ingredients.
- Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
- Place pork ribs on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Spread half of the honey glaze over the pork ribs and bake in the pre-heated oven for 25 minutes, or until glossy. Turn regularly and continue to apply remaining honey glaze on the pork.
- Remove pork ribs from oven and serve.
P/S: I am traveling to Hong Kong next week where I will be stuffing myself silly with all the dim sum and pastries. Expect the next post to be after my trip! ♥
