One of my favorite treats, before I became a vegan, was a dark chocolate-covered apricot from Godiva. The perfect combination of sticky and sweet, and maybe a little less of a guilty pleasure than a gooey truffle.
Apricots are originally from China, and first cultivated here in 1720 in Virginia. A smaller cousin of the peach, they share a soft, fleshy texture, and depending on the piece you pick, just a tiny bit more tart...click here to read more:
