I'm currently in my third year at University and as expected the workload has really gone up a gear. I can never seem to settle when I'm trying to concentrate and I end up moving from my desk, to bed, to the sofa with music on, off, using headphones and then seeking complete silence. I have recently made a discovery that has changed everything, Spotify. By selecting "browse" you are able to select "genres and moods" playlists. Recently I have been selecting "focus" and have found some really good playlists to have on quietly in the background which have helped me find a happy medium.
Deep Focus - ambient rock music which includes The Album Leaf, Explosions In The Sky, and Bonobo.
Peaceful Piano - some beautiful and simple piano pieces which make you want to dig out all of your old sheet music and search ebays for pianos (or is that just me?)
Superior Study Playlist - full of instrumental tracks that you will probably recognize from adverts and films.
I have also found it a great way to discover new artists and create new playlists. PS. The workout section is equally as good for when you are doing running/HTT/yoga etc.
