Sport #TheGallery

By Mummyoftwo @RaspberryGiggle

In homage to the great amount raised by Team Honk for Sport Relief (more than the £25,000 hoped for!), this weeks The Gallery theme is all about Sport.

As anyone who knows me well will tell you, I am not sporty in the slightest. I never have been and I probably never will be!

I used to hate P.E. at school and would get out of it whenever I could (which wasn't very often!) and Sports Day, yuck! The worst day of the year for me, even from being at primary school!

It isn't that I wasn't encouraged to enjoy sports. My Dad was very sporty and still is now. I just never found anything that I was good at. I was always one of the last to get picked and just really struggled which knocked my confidence.

I used to enjoy watching a lot of sport - football, cricket, rugby, anything really. I remember a lot of Saturday nights getting home from babysitting and staying up with my Dad to watch Match of the Day!

Nowadays I don't seem to have the time or energy to sit and watch much at all. I very rarely get 90 minutes free to watch a football match and, even if I did, I would probably fall asleep half way through!

Little Mr A does seem to be following in mine and Big Mr A's footsteps. He is not particularly interested in sports, although doesn't mind taking part at school. He would much rather be in front of his Playstation than outside kicking a football around.

I am hoping when we move and get settled we can get Little Mr A into a sports team of some description. I think it would be a great way for him to meet new friends and learn to enjoy the outdoors a bit more! I don't fancy the idea of standing on a cold and wet sideline every weekend though!
