Are you a coffee lover? Do you hate spinach? Are you trying to eat healthy? If your answer to any of these questions is yes, then you have to try this quick, easy and healthy smoothie recipe. It’s basically breakfast and coffee in one drink.

This is a perfect way to start your day. Oh and it really simple to make, just toss in everything and blend.

Why is this smoothie healthy?

The ingredients are packed with goodness. Spinach is a low calorie super-food. It is loaded with of nutrients and is really good for skin, hair, and bone health. It also provides protein, iron, vitamins, and minerals. Bananas aid digestion, heart health, weight loss, are rich in antioxidants and are instant energy boosters. It is sweetened by the natural sugar from the banana. Any honey which is again rich in antioxidants and a healthier substitute for sugar. It’s healthy and tasty at the same time.

Things to remember/Tips:

  • Add nuts and seeds to your drink – walnuts, almonds, chia seeds, flax seeds
  • Replace the spinach with other greens
  • Banana gives this drink natural sweetness. However, you may add additional honey if you find your drink bitter for your taste
  • If you are making this for your kids, add 2 tbsp. cocoa powder instead of coffee, and top the drink with some melted chocolate, they’ll love it
Spinach Coffee Smoothie

Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1.5 cups whole milk
  • 1+½ frozen banana
  • 3 tbsp. cold brewed coffee (or 3 tsp. instant coffee powder)
  • 6 – 8 ice cubes
  • Honey (as per taste)

Method

Blend everything together until smooth. Once blended do a taste test and add honey (blend it once again) if you would like your smoothie to be sweeter.

Serve it in a glass or a cup to go and enjoy!
