Apple Juice that’ll give you a kick, activate your taste buds and tickle your palate – spicy, sweet, tangy and full of Apples.

Spicy Apple Juice

I have never liked the store-bought apple juices and for that matter any store-bought fruit juices. I feel the purpose of having something healthy is defeated when you have juices that are not fresh and also contain preservatives and high sugar content.

When I tried this recipe I was quite surprised with the result, because it tasted great and it tastes better when it is served cold.

Also, it’s great for health. Chilli powder boosts digestion and metabolism and stimulates the fat burning process and lemon contains the only ingredient which slows the deposition of fat.

You may totally skip the sugar. I had to add them since the apples I had were not sweet at all. Also if you want to make it healthier, you may skip the straining as well. I recommend you to cover the glass rims with the chilli – salt mixture as it gives it an appetizing look and also enhances the taste and the overall experience.

Spicy Apple Juice

Ingredients (makes four small glasses)

3 medium-sized apples

1 glass chilled water

2 tsp. powdered sugar

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. red chilli powder

1 tsp. black pepper powder

1 small lemon

Red chilli powder + little salt (for glass rims – optional)

Spicy Apple Juice

Method

Wash the apples thoroughly. Core and chop them into small pieces. In a mixer add the chopped apples and purée them.

Strain the purée. Add water, sugar, salt, red chilli powder, black pepper powder and juice of half lemon and mix everything until incorporated.

Take the serving glasses and apply a little lemon juice on the rims. Turn the glass (rim side down) in a small plate full of red chilli powder and salt mix to cover the rim with it. Repeat for all the glasses.

Pour the juice in these glasses and serve chilled.
