Some Vows You Need to Take

Some vows you need to take

Love makes the world go round. According to many ,it's actually laughter that makes the world go round. For me too.But did I get enough?I got gifts and love notes and presents and stuff...Things and gifts and jewelry and clothes are immaterial, they are rather material actually. Clothes don't fit , jewelry tarnishes and goes out of fashion, wine and romantic candlelight dinners transform your supple thighs to "Himmatwali" clones , shoes break, audio tapes and CDs professing love have now been blue rayed, flowers wither, chocolates become bra fat that is just not appreciated...But I got the laughter and he wiped my tears. He pushed me when I gave up. He believed in me and in my idiosyncrasies. He also never mocked my intuition. So over time all that you held valuable has now become a burden or a bulge that you must now sweat out.So in thlove 19 years of marriage,I have essentially collected a few cartons of love notes and maybe 10-15 kilos of his love - ok , maybe all the weight wasn't his fault.

His?Well, my soul mate, my better half ( I can vouch for the fact the only women are not better halves!) , my partner in crime,my ex-boyfriend and currently,my husband.Hubby Dear. It's been almost 24 years since I first met him,it's been a long walk till here.

Much is water under the bridge, but a lot awaits us.We have done our best to sustain and support each other.I have no regrets. It's been a good passage. But I am looking forward to much more.So I'll get hubby dear to take a few more "Kasame and Vaade" and renew some more. I'll stick to the magic number seven. 1. Kasam khao ... Swear that you will always support me in all my endeavours even if they look frivolous to you. So hubby dear ,if I want to go trekking to the top of the hill seventy kilometres from town just to soak in the sunshine, trek with me. If I feel the urge to learn a new language, feel free to laugh at the new accents but encourage me time and again.2. Kasam khao ... Swear that you will always appreciate what I cook. I may salt the dal twice ,or I may burn the onions or I may just not have cooked like your grandma or my mom... But whatever I have cooked for you ,is with my own two hands and is full of love. So even if the chicken is falling off the bone and the capsicum is too crunchy. Eat without cribbing . Because, somedays ,nothing cooks right. And to compensate those days, somedays the food is so bl***y good ,you'll eat enough to feed a couple of Giants. So even if you don't say it, I'll know.3. Kasam khao ... Swear that you'll walk with me.Work out with me. You may still be lean and mean ,but some exercise will not hurt you. So quit fiddling with the remotes and walk with me. Because the couple that works out together, stays together.4. Kasam khao ... Swear that you will watch my favorite series with me.Alright, let that be maybe a few minutes of an episode in a season, but you need to know why I cried when Derek Shepherd died. Or why , even In the middle of the blasted North Indian summers I sometimes say ,"Winter is Coming". I  do sit through your endless documentaries and talk shows right?5. Kasam Khao ... Swear that you will not change your cologne.Yup , it's your personal mark of identification for me. I can smell "your smell" before you walk into the room . It's a very stabilising smell. I know all is good when those wooden notes waft in through the windows. I know you are coming home to me.6. Kasam khao ... Swear that you will try out some of my desserts.I know you have no sweet tooth , but I feel kind of bereft when all the world and their wives make meals of my desserts and you just let them pass by. Taste the chocolate and the salted caramel sauce. Maybe then you would understand why the world says there is magic in my hands. 7. Kasam khao... Swear that you will remain suave and stylish forever.I'm ok with you not wanting to dye or color your hair. Men with salt and pepper hair look great. Always make an effort to dress up or down even if we don't need to socialise or head out of home. So always look good and confident and well turned out. We need to look good for each other.

So hubby dear ,Stay SadaSexy... Let's make our future more fun than our past.
