On the second of December, Cheaspeake Earth First! stormed the building housing “America’s Natural Gas Alliance,” which SouthWest Energy uses for all their Federal lobbying. A banner was hung above the door while protesters were inside. A security guard attempted to lock protesters inside, but was not sucessful. SouthWest Energy’s subsidiary SWN is attempting to explore for gas in New Brunswick, Canada on land belonging to the Mi’kmaq First Nation. The Mi’kmaq have been physically resisting the gas exploration by blockading SWN’s trucks in their staging area and on the highway.
In Houston there was a home demo at the CEO of SWN Steven Mueller
The Port of Vancouver was blockaded for an hour.
