It was a little bit sad that we were late, but it was by no fault of our own you see. Nonetheless, we managed to enter the monumentally rammed venue to the vocals of Josh Record (someone we'd seen previously due to a supporting stint with London Grammar). To be completely honest, his set was similarly as spectacular as we'd previously stated, with those harmonies being on absolute form. We noticed that, here, the echoing played against his stage presence when not singing, but all in all, Josh put on a fantastic set that continued our ongoing relationship with his music.
As always, the eruption when he walked on was electric. We'd been waiting months to see him, and the excitement was barely containable ... Sam had entered the stage whilst an onlooking Caroline Flack & boyfriend Jack Street (Sam's manager) cheered (how exciting that we were amongst celebrities?!)Sam started his truly incredible stint with Nirvana - a personal favorite. Every single note was hit to perfection and through every hit single, shivers would be sent down your spine.
Spectacular renditions of La La La, Latch, Together, Arctic Monkeys' Do I Wanna Know? And, of course, Money On My Mind brought the whole house down and, whilst he slipped into slower, and more solemn tracks such as Lonely Hour, your heart melted.
The ending, as you'd suspect, left us all wanting more. He'd built us up so much, and when he came back out and played Lay Me Down, we were besotted. This man, this incredible man, may just be the best male vocalist we've ever withessed.
