I didn't want to spend a huge amount in case I didn't like it, however, they have the clever idea of selling a 'Starter kit' for us beginners. I purchased the Smashbox Try It Kit...
I love that the box comes with a description about every item, and the packaging is really cute.
In the kit you got five items:
7.1ml Photo Finish oil-free foundation primer
4.2ml Lip enhancing gloss in Illume
0.8g Limitless eye liner in Onyx
0.5ml Photo finish lid primer
4ml Hyperlash mascara
I also got 7.1ml Photo Finish oil-free foundation primer free. I think you get a free tester with every order.
I have used the primer once and it was very soft on my skin, however I don't think primers really work on me but I will keep using it.
Top left: Eyeliner Top right: Lid primer Bottom: lipgloss
I've used the eyeliner twice already. Its really pigmented and comes out really strong. It doesn't come off very easily as I really had to scrub hard on my hand but it's also really good for a smudged look too. I love this eyeliner and would definitely buy it full size when I run out.
I've also used the Lid primer everyday since I got it (which was about 4 days ago) and I'm also very happy with this too. I like that it has an applicator to apply it and it's so much easier and less messy than using my fingers. It hasn't creased my eye make-up at all.
The lipgloss I didn't think was that great at first. I thought it was too sticky when I swatched it on my had but when I used it on my lips today it was lovely. It smells gorgeous! It a subtle shimmery pinky/nude and looks really nice on. It's hardly sticky at all as well once it was on my lips.
This mascara is very good also. The comb applicator makes it really easy to apply and it coats all the lashes really well. It's also really really black so makes my lashes very bold.
This little starter kit cost me £19.00 and was free delivery. I am so happy with it and I would definitely recommend anyone to buy this if they want to try Smashbox but aren't sure. I am 100% going to be buying a lot more of their products in the near future.
Have you tried anything by Smashbox before? What do you think of it?
