Small Haul: NARS Spring 2012 Collection
So this post is a bit belated, a few weeks ago I picked up three items from the new NARS Spring line and meant to have this post up as soon as got them but studying and writing papers got in the way.  So anyway here it is!  This line is incredible and one of the best Spring collections I've seen so far this year.
Lhasa Eyeshadow

On the website this eyeshadow is described as a lavender grey, it has a satin-like sheen to it with a tiny amount of shimmer.  It's great for the crease to deepen up a silvery smokey eye or just for a light dusting all over the lid when you're in a hurry and want a little something on the eye.  I've just been using a fluffy crease brush and applying it all over the lid for a soft everyday look.
Dark Rite Soft Touch Shadow Pencil

This is probably my favorite and most used product from this haul.  You can use this pencil as an eye liner or shadow base for a deep blue smokey eye.  I've been using this everyday as liner, it's dark enough to still be natural looking but adds just a hint of "umph" to the eyes.  I haven't tried it as a shadow base yet but I think this is going to be great for switching up my standard black smokey eye.  The formula is creamy and long lasting and it has a slight sheen to it that keeps it from looking flat.
Mexican Rose Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil

This product should come with a warning: this thing is HOT FREAKIN' PINK.
Now I don't mean that as a bad thing, in fact I love wearing this color, but the longer this sets into the lips the more hot pink it gets.  Just the tiniest and I mean tiniest bit of product is needed for the lips.  When I first got this I applied it directly to lips and used about a coat or two and thirty means later when I walked past a mirror I was shocked, this thing packs some crazy pigmentation.  So if you're fair skinned like me I really recommend using some bronzer before applying this so it isn't quite so shocking looking.  This product is also extremely long lasting- as it sets in the color gets more intense and sets more like a stain so it takes some legitimate makeup remover to get off.  I've found the best way to apply this to get a little on a lip brush and lightly apply it for a more natural look, but if you want the full effect then just apply it directly to the lips.
