This sweet and tangy green bean side dish is flavored with onions and bacon. It gets its tangy kick from the white vinegar and its sweetness from sugar.
This Advent I have been running around like a chicken with my head chopped off. I made about 40 goodie baskets filled with my homemade salsa, pickles and honey mustard that I canned over the summer. The Hubster was bragging at work about how good my cookies are so when they had a cookie swap I sent my Preacher Cookies other wise known as no bake cookies and my Rachel Cookies with him to work. I guess they were a hit because he came back with a empty tray.
Monkey girl on the other hand went in a way different direction. She requested I make my sweet and sour green beans. Her nursing school was having a baby shower for a student and they were doing a potluck. Normally I do not make my sweet and sour green beans in a slow cooker, but Monkey girl suggested we use the slow cooker. Sometimes I marvel at how smart and resilient my daughter really is.
In fact these were so good and easy to make we decided we would start making them this way from now on.
