I laughed so much through the whole episode, cringing at times because it's quite known that I don't mind a spot of shopping-especially at the airport. In fact, it's almost unheard of for me to board-or exit-a flight without a shopping bag in one hand and my wheelie suitcase in the other.
The last time I flew to Sydney, I came within a minute or two of missing my flight because I was so busy checking out (and trying on) the new arrivals in store that I forgot I actually had to board the plane in order to depart!
For me, my holiday starts the moment I step foot into the airport and that means whatever I buy at the airport, counts as a "holiday purchase", even if the 'holiday' is actually a work trip.
Last week, Brisbane Airport Corporation invited me to drop by the Domestic Terminal to check out the latest Winter arrivals at their fashion and beauty retailers.
Inspired by what I saw in store, I'm sharing six essentials that I always pack when going on a winter holiday.
Unlike summer travel where you need to pack everything from swimsuits to shorts, skirts, dresses, hats and multiple pairs of shoes, winter packing is all about layering and getting creative with a limited number of cosy pieces.
My six winter travelling 'must-haves' are not only versatile and easy to wear (making your next trip or weekend away easy and stress-free), they're also perfect for wearing in your day-to-day life!

A great pair of jeans-fitted, but with the perfect amount of stretch. For me, clothes when travelling need to be comfortable and versatile and at the centre of most of my winter outfits is a great pair of jeans. Skinny jeans like these ones I found in Seed Heritage are perfect for tucking into knee-high boots, or can be rolled slightly to sit just above your ankle boots. Plus they're easy to dress up and down.

A winter-appropriate coat or jacket. Look for a wool-blend coat or puffer jacket, or one that will keep the wind out and leave you feeling as snug as a bug in a rug without having to wear 25 layers underneath. An eye mask. Not only are eye masks great for blocking out light when trying to sleep on a flight, but they also help travelers adjust to different time zones by reducing jet lag. Bypass the airline-provided eye mask and glam things up with one from Peter Alexander. They're softly padded with a super soft inner lining (to limit those any snooze-related wrinkles) and have a fabric-covered elasticated strap so it won't get caught on or damage your hair.

I really don't think I could love this outfit any more than I do.
