Sia Seriously Sorts It ...

Posted on the 18 March 2014 by Tlb Music Blog @TLB_Blog
Sia has penned songs for some incredible names, but has never really broken the market with her solo pieces. Her latest single, Chandelier, could easily have been made for Rihanna, Shakira, or Beyonce ... but it seems that she may well have kept the best for herself as this incredible pop ballad, believe it or not, is quite easily one of the catchiest and most impressive this year.
Sia Seriously Sorts It ...The thing is, we should not like this. On the premise that it is soaked in pop alone, we should hate it ... but there's something about Sia, and the fact that the industry still barely knows a thing about her, that makes this so very incredible - whilst not mentioning that vocal.
Your immediate reaction will not necessarily be one of warm welcoming. When we first heard the percussion we were concerned. It seemed a bit dated, a little too "gangster-wannabe", and troublesome ... but then all of our woes were washed away by the sound of that voice, and what was to come further made us drop-jawed.
You'll notice that she sounds quite like Shakira throughout this single. We never really thought of Sia as being similar to anyone ... but there's something about her within this track that is particularly Hispanic and, even sexy ... but anyway, the chorus, when it finally creeps up, absolutely blasts away anything and everything you've listened to that day. Sia uses every single note within her range and, whilst at times she seems to reach the very limits, her aura and presence throughout is composed and stupendously impressive.
The vocal riff within the chorus really carries this places and, in the next few months especially, we'd like to keep a real eye and ear on this song as we believe it to be one of the biggest of the year, just waiting to be discovered!
Paul.
