Cash In feels much slower in pace than Losing You, and that's almost half of the reason why we just aren't feeling it. Though, in other songs, like Sam Smith's Nirvana, the pace is irrelevant, and that makes us believe that it must be something else which is making us lose time for this one-growing starlet. The way in which she sings, as always, is utterly beautiful. She sure as hell holds her own style, and, whilst the single sways in front of you with its constant calling of hits on what sounds like a Vibraslap instrument, the thing that is missing seems to whither away, and you tend to carry on with it, right through to the bitter end despite some sort of hollow being there and foreboding.
Something in the way that the music flows might be what it is, or the way in which she carries her voice across such music, but all we know is, the elements which make up this song should really make for something wonderfully tribal and, in essence, an absolutely incredible single ... but something just isn't clicking. We'd like to think that Solange is capable of getting back on the horse and showcasing something quite incredible soon. We're just about still rooting for her.
