Now that the Spring sowing season has arrived I am hoping to return to weekly Garden Log updates... 

September Week 1
The garden this week as beds are cleared they are topped up with well rotted horse manure.
Weather highlights:

Highest Max 24.8C
3.5  mm Rain
Weather Notes:
The week began with chilly, frosty (and foggy) mornings but by Tuesday the temperature was up to 24.8C and strong northerly winds began to blow. The wind continued through to Friday but the temperature had dropped and we even had a little rain...

Propagation:
Seeds:

Beetroot Cylindra Beta vulgaris from Diggers Seeds
Onion Spring Allium fistulosum from DT Brown
Shallot Bunching Deep Purple Allium fistulosum from Select Organic
Californian Poppies Purple Eschscholzia californica form Diggers (thanks to a friend for sharing)  These seeds all went into punnets.
Carrots Daucas carota var. sativus Early Nantes from Mr Fothergill's Easy Sow Seed Tape
Parsnip Gladiator F1 Pastinaca sativa From Mr Fothergill's

These were directly sown into bed 12 in the Kitchen Garden
Potting on/up:
Sunflowers Prado Red volunteers from the garden
Capsicum California Wonder
Celery Dorata D' Asti
Chinese Artichokes thinned out from last years pots
Harvest Tally:
Doesn't include Greens fed to the chooks on a daily basis or herbs picked for use in the kitchen for cooking or tea making. For Salads, Juice and Stirfries  I have been picking Lettuce, Watercress, Lebanese Watercress, Kale, Silverbeet,  Gotu Kola, Parcel, Parsley and Beetroot Leaves which are not always weighed.

 3 from the lone Barnevelder
 17 from the 5 Farmyard Ferals

September Week 1             The seedlings are again filling the greenhouse benches...
September Week 1The tiny Tomato seedlings are growing strongly. Hopefully I will be able to take them out into the sunshine when the wind dies down!!!
