September Favorites 2013 Ft Jouer, Physician's Formula, NARS, Jordana & Priti NYC
By Makeupguineapig @MakeUpGuineaPigTime for the obligatory “where did September go” comments! Yes, it’s favorites time again and I really don’t know what happened to September. I guess I was sick and slept through part of it, but it still seems like it is only August that is ending. But enough about the insanely fast passage of time, and on to my favorite products for the month! J
My first and most cherished favorite this month has to be the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint (see my review here). I’ve been wearing this pretty much every day to even out my skin tone and make any angry red blemishes look at least a little bit less irritated. I love that it gives me a bit of coverage, but I can get away with nothing more on my face – I don’t feel like a raccoon if I don’t feel like using concealer.
Speaking of concealer, I suppose I have two favorites this month. The first is the Physician’s Formula Conceal RX. I really only use this under my eyes and it does an excellent job of disguising under eye circles. I don’t find that it cracks, creases or settles into fine lines, and a little bit goes a long way. It has a slightly pinkish-salmon tone that helps correct blue undertones, hence why I use it under my eyes! J
For blemishes and just plain old unevenness, I’ve bought into the hype surrounding the NARS Creamy Concealer. For one, it matches my skin almost perfectly – crucial for concealing blemishes! It is also just really pigmented and thick, but not heavy. I find that even the worst of blemishes can be masked with a relatively small amount of effort. And it blends like a dream! I definitely understand why so many bloggers have fallen in love with this concealer.
I’ve finally tried something from Jordana this month and I am seriously impressed. Increase the $4 price tag, and I’m still impressed! It’s the Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain and it is amazing! This stuff really is slightly moisturizing and it really does stain! It seriously lasts all day with only minimal fading. I think you could do pretty much anything, and the color will still be on your lips! Not to mention it’s my favorite kind of lip product – a chubby crayon! J Oh, as if that weren’t enough, the shade “Candied Coral” is a great dupe for the Too Faced Color Bomb Lip Injection thingy in “Coral Pop,” but without the burning tingle and the $20+ price tag!!! J
For my nails, I finally found a nail strengthener that actually works! I abuse my nails so much that they’re always peeling and, though this doesn’t completely fix that problem (it’s not really supposed to), it definitely has been helping! It is from Priti NYC and it’s their Strong Nail Strengthener. This is the first nail strengthener I have tried that doesn’t peel off my nails in chunks. Once this dries, it kind of seals my nails and helps prevent further peeling. It works great under polish as well! And my nails do seem less prone to breakage and brittleness since I’ve started using the Priti NYC Strong Nail Strengthener. If you have any kind of trouble with your nails, I would highly recommend giving this a shot! J
I think that does it for my favorites this month. It’s not a lot, but then the month has seemed so short that I feel like I haven’t really been using many products with any regularity. So, what have you been loving this month? I’d love to see your comments!!! J
